Use of courts
The Club can use the 7 hard courts at all times when they are not required for use by Stamford School (generally in school hours on school days). Even on school days courts may be available, but Stamford School has priority. The Club also has grace-and-favour use of the six Astroturf courts during the summer when the School does not require them. Experience indicates that there is always a court or two available for privately-arranged games.

Club Rules & Regulations
are posted in the clubhouse.

Newsletter & Websites.
A newsletter is published twice a year supplemented with regular e-bulletins. To ensure you receive these please ensure that Carol Cotton has your current postal and email addresses. Our websites are stamfordtennis.co.uk & stamford.totaltennis.net..

Guests.
Guests are permitted, but must be signed in the Club Diary in the clubhouse before play. Charges are £5 per adult and £1 per child.

Teams.
The Club runs about fifteen teams in local leagues, covering almost the full range of tennis ability. Members currently not playing in a team please indicate on this Membership Form if they would like to be considered for one of the teams.

Club tournaments.
The Club runs a number of open and closed tournaments during the season. Details are given in the Newsletterand/or the rugular e-bulletins

Social events.
We have sociable American Tournaments four times a year. These are followed by buffet lunches. There are other social events which are advertised in the newsletters/e-bulletins and in the clubhouse. We are open to suggestions.

Access to lower courts
For security reasons access is only usually possible via the padlocked gate by court 4. Senior members of the Club have access to the code. Otherwise entry acn be gained via the path beside the squash courts, accessible half-way down Conduit Road.

Practice Wall.
The wall is extremely useful for practising strokes, particularly after coaching.

Floodlights.
These should be in operation wef 1 March 2006. The lights are operated via a meter system within the clubhouse. Tokens cost £4 per court per hour, and are obtainable from Coaches Ralph Clarke & Richard Wilson and Club Officers Carol Cotton, Penny Cooper & Mike Chew. As the clubhouse is invariably locked at night-time, those using the floodlights may well need a swipe card to gain access to the clubhouse. The lights automatically switch off at 10 pm and the clubhouse automatically locks itself at 10.20. We are not allowed to play beyond 10 pm. In the winter the clubhouse is almost always closed. To gain access to the clubhouse in order to put tokens in the floodlight meters, members need a swipe card, which is obtainable from Carol Cotton. The cost (non-returnable) is £5.

Members may book courts in advance by signing up on sheets on the notice board at the back of the clubhouse. Members wishing to make a block booking for themselves and member friends at a certain time on a certain day each week over the season may pre-book and pre-pay their slot. Please contact Mike Chew for details. Allowance is made in the arrangements to cater for slots not used because of bad weather.

Swipe cards.
For security reasons we are introducing a swipe card system of entry into the clubhouse. If you think you need a swipe card, order it on this subscription form. Each card costs £5, which is non-refundable. They are available at other times from the Membership Secretary Carol Cotton.

Members' Calendar.
A Members' Calendar is posted in the clubhouse windows an on this website. It is updated from time to time. It consists of a) events throughout the year and b) a weekly programme. The weekly programme includes the times of adult and junior social sessions, group coaching sessions and team practices.

Tennis Balls.
Tennis balls are provided for club-organised social sessions. Balls for privately-arranged tennis can be purchased from Carol Cotton or coach Richard Wilson at £4.50 per tube of four. Usually there are also well-worn balls freely available in a box in the clubhouse.

Coaching.
The Club has the coaching services of five coaches. Head Coach is Ralph Clarke. All the coaches are available for private coaching sessions. These can be for individuals, pairs or pre-arranged fours, and should be arranged with the coaches concerned.

Group coaching
is available, generally in short courses of five weeks. Look in the newsletter or on the notices in the clubhouse windows.
If you are not sure which coach would be appropriate for your needs, please contact Coach Richard Wilson.
Coaching fees vary according to the level of qualifications of the coaches, and range between £20 and £25 per hour.
